- P&G Q1 FY2027 net sales reached $23.3bn, up 4%; organic sales also rose 4%.
- Beauty (Olay, Herbal Essences) and grooming organic sales each grew 5% year over year.
- Fiscal 2027 all-in sales guidance set at 2–4%, reflecting the Thorne acquisition effective 1 October 2026; organic outlook held at 1–3%.
- P&G acquired clean digestive health brand Wonderbelly in January 2026 for an undisclosed sum.

Procter & Gamble posted net sales of US$23.3bn for the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, up 4% versus the prior-year period, with organic sales matching that 4% increase.
The beauty segment, home to Olay and Herbal Essences, grew organic sales 5% against Q1 FY2026, the company reported. Grooming organic sales also rose 5%. Both figures sit above the company-wide organic growth rate, signaling where the portfolio is pulling its weight.
“Our solid sales, earnings and cash results in the first quarter reflect sharpened execution of our integrated strategy,” said Shailesh Jejurikar, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO.
Where did the growth come from?
The hair care division delivered mid-single-digit organic sales growth. P&G attributed the gain to innovation-based pricing in North America and Latin America, a favourable product mix, and a rise in unit volume.
Personal care organic sales also increased mid-single digits, driven by volume growth in Greater China and Europe plus favourable mix.
Grooming's 5% organic increase relied on innovation-based pricing, primarily in the North America market.
The pattern matters for formulators and brand teams watching the US leader. Pricing tied to innovation — new product claims, formats or benefits — rather than straight list-price increases carried three of the four beauty-adjacent divisions. Volume growth, not just price, supported hair care and personal care.
What happened to guidance?
P&G updated its fiscal 2027 all-in sales growth guidance to a range of 2% to 4% versus the prior year. The change reflects the acquisition of supplement brand Thorne, which closed on 1 October 2026 and now sits inside the consolidated top line.
The company maintained its organic sales growth outlook at 1% to 3%. Core EPS growth and free cash flow productivity targets were likewise reaffirmed, per Jejurikar's remarks.
The split between a 2–4% all-in range and a 1–3% organic range quantifies roughly how much M&A, chiefly Thorne, is expected to add to reported growth this fiscal year.
“While we expect there will continue to be geopolitical and economic challenges, this strong start keeps us on track to deliver within our guidance ranges for organic sales growth, core EPS growth and free cash flow productivity for the fiscal year,” Jejurikar said.
He added: “We remain committed to our strategy to delight consumers with superior products at a superior value by putting the consumer first in everything we do. We are confident in the near term and excited about the future.”
What do the acquisitions signal?
Thorne is the second health-adjacent brand P&G has bought inside a year. In January 2026, the company acquired Wonderbelly, a “clean” digestive health brand, for an undisclosed sum.
P&G said the Wonderbelly deal reinforced its “commitment to providing a diverse range of health solutions while addressing evolving consumer preferences.”
Two supplement-focused acquisitions within roughly nine months — Wonderbelly in January 2026, Thorne effective 1 October 2026 — mark a clear portfolio tilt toward ingestible health alongside the core beauty, grooming and personal care franchises.
For suppliers and contract manufacturers serving the beauty space, the read-through is direct: a beauty-and-grooming leader is allocating capital to wellness formats, while still pricing beauty innovation at a premium in North America and Latin America.
For procurement teams, the guidance architecture offers a benchmark: organic growth of 1–3% at the world's largest advertiser, with M&A lifting reported sales toward the top of a 2–4% range in fiscal 2027.
The next data point to watch is Q2 FY2027 reporting, which will show whether Greater China and Europe volume gains in personal care held through the quarter and how much Thorne contributes to reported sales.
In short: 4% organic growth, 5% in beauty and grooming, and a supplement acquisition reshaping the top line — P&G opened fiscal 2027 ahead of its own full-year trajectory.
