Newly launched health and beauty platform Tresalis has acquired majority ownership of Vyrao, the neuroscience-led wellbeing fragrance brand, in its first deal since formation — and founder Yasmin Sewell stays on as Chief Brand Officer and shareholder.
Rumours of a sale first surfaced in summer 2026. The completed transaction confirms that Sewell and existing investors — early-stage venture platform Elevate Beauty and beauty-focused private equity firm Manzanita Capital — retain minority equity interests alongside the new owner.
Tresalis is an owner-operated platform built to buy and scale science- and efficacy-led consumer health, wellness and beauty brands. Its founding team combines Munich-based family office ATHOS and serial health and beauty entrepreneur Dr. Fernando Tamez. Vyrao is the platform's first acquisition, positioning the deal as the template for a wider roll-up strategy.
What does the deal mean for Vyrao's positioning?
Vyrao's portfolio spans perfumes and home fragrance, built on a premise that scent can influence mood and energy. Sewell framed the brand's origin in those terms.
"I created Vyrao with the sole purpose of elevating our mood and energy – the brand was always about our well-being with fragrance as the first medium," Sewell said.
For buyers and retail partners, the signal is continuity: the founder retains creative and strategic direction, and the existing investor base has not exited. What changes is the balance sheet behind expansion — Tresalis brings ATHOS capital and an explicit mandate to scale brands internationally.
Sewell said: "To be on this new journey now with such brilliant partners and to be the first on a new platform that is in complete synergy with the vision and intention of Vyrao is so exciting. It also feels very kismet."
Why did Tresalis target fragrance first?
Tamez positioned the acquisition around three overlapping attributes: luxury fragrance, emotional wellbeing and credible science. He called Vyrao "a rare brand" at that intersection, with "enormous potential to scale globally."
"The acquisition marks our first investment from Tresalis, the broader platform we have created in partnership with ATHOS, focused on identifying exceptional brands with strong authenticity, differentiated intellectual property and significant international potential," Tamez said.
The language of "differentiated intellectual property" matters for formulation watchers. Tresalis is screening targets on the basis of defensible IP and efficacy claims, not just brand equity — a filter that should shape which indie wellbeing brands come onto its acquisition radar next.
What do the outgoing investors say?
Cori Aleadri, founding partner of Elevate Beauty, framed the deal as the right scale-up step rather than an exit.
"Vyrao has always stood apart as a pioneer in the beauty category. This partnership is exactly the right next step for the brand to further expand and achieve its full potential," Aleadri said.
"Combined with Yasmin's creative leadership and Vyrao's distinctive identity, it is a powerful foundation for growth. Elevate Beauty is genuinely excited to remain part of the journey in the brand's next chapter."
What to watch next
Three open questions define the story from here:
- Whether Tresalis closes a second acquisition — and in which category — as it builds out the platform
- How Vyrao's distribution footprint expands under new capital, particularly beyond its current home-fragrance and perfume lines
- Whether the mood-and-scent efficacy positioning attracts clinical substantiation as the brand scales
Expect Tresalis to move relatively quickly: as a first-of-platform deal with an owner-operator structure, Vyrao functions as proof of concept for the ATHOS-Tamez thesis. The next filing, or the next target brand named, will confirm whether the platform is a serial acquirer or a one-brand holding.
